Well it's been a very interesting end of June beginning of July. I woke up at 3 am with a stomach ache last Wednesday, which didn't go away. I wasn't able to even keep water down. So I went to my doctor, around 11, who told me to go to the emergency room! I ended up getting a CAT scan which showed that I had an inflamed appendix. That day I was rushed to another hospital, via ambulance, and had my appendix removed.
Crazy. It felt like a really bad stomach ache. Like acid reflux with no pain in my lower ab. It wasn't until later on that the pain radiated to my appendix area, when pushed by the doc. Thank goodness it didn't rupture. I'm very stubborn and honestly thought I was coming down with the flu. Good think my doctor told me to go to the emergency room
So this week I'm in recovery mode. Three incisions were made and I'm very sore and bruised. Still a bit nauseated and not 100%. But definitely better than last week.
I just ordered the rest of the Blendabilities Markers from SU! and they should be here soon. You can order some of the markers now. You can view samples I've made on my Pinterest board.

Time flies. And I'm the worst about letting it get away from me.
However I have been doing things. I've created a ton of cards, crocheted several afghans and baby items.
Yes, I'm gonna be a grandma. Very excited.
So even though I haven't posted on here as much as I use to, I'm still being creative. Just haven't been motivated to sit down and share on my blog.
The new SU! catty is finally here. And I love some of the stamps and products. Of course I'm gonna enjoy using their new alcohol based markers. Unfortunately, even though I'll be sharing things I've colored with them, they won't be available just yet. Still it's good to see examples of how they work. And yes, they work just like all the other alcohol based markers. LOL.
Best part is the price point. $11.95 for a set of 3. (They are not refillable.) Great for beginners.
Also, I think I'd post more creations on my blog if I didn't have to spend a ton of time listing all the products I use. That just takes the fun out of it for me. (One reason I stopped uploading my cards on some sites. Too time consuming. I'd rather be creating.)
So please excuse me.
I just hope to inspire you to use Stampin' Up! products and to create.
You can find the products I used here at

If you have been following my blog for some time now you know I have a tendency to be all over the place. I try new crafts, learn new skills, and at times take a break from it all.
After I stopped illustrating for stamp companies, for personal reasons, I took a long break from stamping. Sold most of my stuff, except for paper and art supplies. (Most of the rubber stamps just had to go! LOL) And I enjoyed my other hobbies. Which,by the way, are many.
That's the thing about me. I love to do it all. I love crocheting, I love learning to knit, I love to draw and color. I love to cook. And garden, love my gardening.
And I do love my papercrafts. But lately, not so much. Don't ask me why. Just not motivated. Maybe it's the change in the weather. Maybe it's the realization that I'm 50 and I find myself asking myself some deep questions about where I want to be 10 or even 20 years from now.
Either way, with the year soon coming to an end I have to stop and really think a bit about what I want to do next year. What goals I want to achieve. What direction do I want to take my art.
I have never been one that does art for arts sake. Maybe that's the problem.
For now, I'm enjoying reacquainting myself with sewing again. (Not so sure how that one will turn out!) Feeling the urge to scrapbook, digitally and actual paper ones.
And just wanting to enjoy my creative side again. I miss it.

Where oh where did this year go? I can hardly believe it's November!
And what, Christmas is just around the corner. I'm not ready. I thought that I would have more time this year to do the things I planned. And yet, I only got a few things on my list done. Oh well.
There's always next year!
But that's okay. It has been a fun year, full of surprises. Lots of wonderful things!
I was able to stamp a bit. And by a bit I mean, I made 2 cards! Yippee!
My goals are going to be a bit more mapped out next year. That's for sure. I hope to get more creative, with not only my stamping but my MDS (SU! digital studio) And I want to get back to my roots. To my first love, drawing. Maybe even get some painting done. (Well, more than just my bathroom! LOL) As on canvas.
I love this SU! set, Perfect Blend. So cute.

What an exciting, fun, tiring, happy and crazy week. I'm finally able to sit down and share a few pictures. And I have a ton of pictures! Still more coming in and it'll be another 10 weeks before we see the other ones. But I wanted to take a minute to share a couple of highlights.
It was a beautiful sunny day. Thank goodness! Originally the weather reports were saying a huge storm system was heading our way for Saturday. Not a good thing for an outdoor wedding! But thankfully it held off until Monday. It was hot, but there was a breeze.
My son and his wife were just darling. They are so cute. And fun. And young. Seriously, just the perfect setting for the two of them. We all had a great time watching them have a great time.
Her parents even set up a photo booth, a frame with some props. Big hit!
I spent the week after the wedding playing catch up on chores, etc. Now I feel the creative bug biting me.
Definitely will carve out some time this week to stamp.

Oh where, oh where have I been?
Well, I lost my mojo! I surely have. I even ordered some new Stampin' Up! products and all I could do was unpack them. Seriously! Such cute stuff and it just sat there staring back at me.
But I do have an excuse. My son's wedding is in in a couple of weeks! It was moved to this year instead of next year.
And my brain is in over drive.
I'm so excited for them. The new time line will make things easier on them should he deploy. It just makes us have to hurry up and get things done a lot sooner.
So, again, sorry for the lack of cards. I'm definitely going to get back into the swing of things soon.

two new sets: Map It Out & Greetings From. They’re great by themselves, but when used together they can help you create customized maps for so many things: save-the-dates, moving postcards, travel keepsake containers, and just-saying-hello cards, to name a few.
Most of the images fit perfectly on the smallest clear blocks, and are easy to layer and line up. But be careful not to lose any of the little pieces—they are sneaky! (California almost didn’t make it to the photo shoot!) They also coordinate nicely with our circle punches (US/CA)—letting you create easy tags or embellishments for scrapbook pages.
The greetings from the Greetings From Stamp Set fit perfectly around the state abbreviation icons from the Map It Out set. Add a dashed line, an “x” to mark the spot—and other fun details—and you’ve got a perfect postcard to send to friends and family to let them know you’ve moved.
Ajournal from the Try Me Paper Pumpkin kit, and embellished it with some stamping to make a travel journal. It’s the perfect size to bring on a trip and make notes along the way.

There are times when a creative urge overwhelms me and I have to give in. I have a lot of loves and crafting has a lot of crafts!
After I completed a cross stitch project recently I looked at my stash of thread and thought to myself. Self, you really should do some embroidery. It's been years since you did this. So why not!
I found some cute patterns online. Traced them to fabric. And just went to town.
No pattern. Just fun.
It's been a wonderful break.
When my life gets busy, as it has been these last few weeks, I sometimes have to shift my brain over to doing things that repeat themselves.
Knitting, crochet and needle work seem to sooth my soul.
It's a good thing.

I wanted to create a simple card. Simple, in that it didn't need coloring!
I used the burlap ribbon to create a pocket to place the smaller stamped panel. I folded the ribbon in half and stitched it to a square piece of Natural Composition DSP. Added one of Stampin' Up! cute antique button brads.

I sometimes like to think out of the box when I use my products. I used the tulip die without the corresponding stamp set. Die cutting it onto several scrap pieces of paper and cutting out the layers to create the flower. The pretty polka dot paper is from the new Holiday Catalog.
I combined the Large Scallop Die with 2 layers of the saw tooth edgelits.

In less than 24 hours the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog will be LIVE (Aug. 1, 12:01 a.m. Mountain).
Included on my card are some wonderful yummy papers, washi tapes, ribbon and stamps that you will be available.
To create a feather take a small piece of wire, desired length of your feather and place it on the sticky side of the Washi tape. Add another piece of tape on top of the wire. Adhering the 2 pieces of tape together with the wire between them. Then just cut out the shape of a feather and using your scissors add the fringe. Twist, turn or do what ever you want with your feather to make it look more real.
I used the Backyard Basics Framelits Dies for the black bird. Added one of Stampin' Ups white Candy Dots for the eye and added the black dot to the center.

I love this set. It's beautiful colored or just as is.
I stamped the images in black and used the corresponding dies to cut them out. Oh so easy!
I used the This and That Epic Day DSP SU! for the background. The other paper is from the Spring Catty but you could substitute Afternoon Picnic DSP, very similar.
I'm trying to push myself to make more cards that don't require coloring. Very much out of my comfort zone, but fun to do.

It only took me over 25 years to have my own space. But I finally committed a small corner of our bonus room for my stuff.
A sweet friend blessed me with the white storage units last year when she remodeled her stamp room. I had them stored in a utility room. I've always had at least a desk where I could work from time to time and then have all of my creative junk stored around the house in various places. Which can be a pain!
I realized that when my son moved out I would still need his old room as a guest bedroom, so converting his room to a art room wasn't an option. And my youngest is many years from moving out. So I decided to push the sofa that we had up there to a different location and take a corner just for me.
I kept the fold out table that was up there. Why? My sweet son often used it to work on his artistic creations. He would draw, paint, marker etc one corner of the desk.I love it! It's a reminder of how talented he is.
I wanted a record, 45s, holder for my dies and I found one on Etsy for $10! Perfect.
Found the shelving unit at Target and it's perfect to keep my knitting/crochet pattern books and mags. Now they are all in one place. I have 2 baskets under the fold out desk where I keep my yarns. My stamp pads are kept in that black case next to the dies storage. It was a CD carrier, before we had IPods! Fits my Stampin' Up! Ink pads perfectly. (I have 2 of them, one is empty, so it's stored elsewhere. As you can see I don't keep many stamp sets. I just piled them up on the desk. (Older stamps are store elsewhere. And I don't keep many of them. Most of them are stamps or sets that I created.)
Love those clear baskets! Found them at Target in the bath aisle. They store my paints.
I keep all of my punches in the pull out drawers.
I cut down my 12 x 12 SU! Designer Series papers to 6 x6. Then store them in a clear container on my desk. Since I mostly do cards or smaller scaled projects I don't need to store much scrapbooking paper.(Older scrapbooking paper is in a container under the desk.) So these shelves worked perfectly for the rest of my paper supplies and extra stuff.
Where I color. This is in the main part of the house. Separate from the bonus room. It's nice to have it upstairs, tucked away. I can just sit there, watch a show on the computer and color away.
So now that I finally have a dedicated room I have been busy creating. It's been a long wait to finally have a small space just for me, but oh so worth it!
