I still have several Stampin Up! stamp sets for sale. If they do not sell by the end of this month I will be moving them to either my Etsy store or sell them locally. So if there is something you're on the fence about hurry up and let me know that you want it.

Thanks for the sweet comments. I agree, I need to take care of me also and not use up all of my energy taking care of my family. (Although, for me, they do come first.)

But as a sweet friend posted "To thine self be true." When we put our passions aside and don't attend to them then we will never be 100% happy.

I will make it through this stage of my life. I'm actually excited about this year!

What a week! So glad it's finally Friday.

I've been wanting to share some of the images that I colored for Whipper Snapper Designs but had to wait until the new stamps came out. I'm blessed to be able to work with them as one of their new colorist. What a fun thing to do! I love being able to do what I love. And it really helps me to color more - to push myself and get better at coloring I need to always keep practicing. I'm always learning with each new assignment that they give me. 

Plus, the images by Whipper Snapper Designs are so darn fun! Who wouldn't want to color them.

I wanted to share a new image that I colored recently and ask for some advice.

I recently discovered RubberNecker stamps through Kittie's blog and her gorgeous new kits Kittie_Kits. I ordered a few of their unmounted stamps. Very cute and unique images.

I used my Copic and Prismacolor markers to color in the girl, fish and Dolphin. I watercolored in the background.

My problem. These are very detailed stamp images that I would love to emboss. However, if I use Versamark and black embossing powder the details are lost when heated.

I've used craft black and other wet black inks and then used detail clear powder to try to get a clear image. Nope, for some reason the powder will not stick to all of the ink, so I get a image that is embossed in only some areas. So for this one I used a brown and detail powder. Same thing. Didn't emboss well.

Okay, what do you use to emboss an image using something other than Versamark ? What type of embossing powder do you use?

Blog Candy and More Fun!

Today's the day! All the new stamp sets are available at 10:00 PM Central time. I'm so excited. I love all the new sets that Gina has available.

There's going to be lots of fun tonight.

Usually, evenings are family time, and I'm not available. But since hubby's away I get to play! LOL. So I'll be at the Release_Party tonight. It starts at 7 pm central time. I've never been to a GinaK release party but I've heard it moves quickly and there a lot of fun giveaways. Come and join the fun. I can hardly wait to chat with everyone!

Getting Set!

I'm still preparing for the upcoming move. Granted the move itself won't take long (I have very few things to pack.) It's just the waiting that's hard!

So how about a sneak peak at the new stamp sets. They will be released on Wednesday March 19th at  Cornish_Heritage_Farms (Please look under new products.)

These are my first sets! I love the idea of stamps as set. Two measure approximately 5x6, the other approximately 4x5.

Yes, I drew these. They are not clip art that I just cut and pasted. I used Rapidograph pens and either cross-hatched the pen strokes or used stippling (little dots) to create these images.

I'd love to share these 3 sets with someone.

Happy Easter Blog Candy!

Guess what?

I have new stamps coming out soon at Cornish Heritage Farms. How soon? Next week!

Did you know Easter comes early this year. It's in March. I know I'll be busy making my cards ahead of time and preparing for it.

I inked up my new Bunny Basket stamp with Stazon Black. Then I stamped it onto watercolor paper. I watercolored it in using my dye ink pads and a sable brush. Remember to water down the areas that you are going to color in first before you apply the ink with your brush. This creates a softer image, as the water on the paper dilutes the ink and spreads it around the areas being colored in.

Background paper is Prism Wizard Medium. The saying is also by Cornish Heritage farms and coming out next week.

Now for the fun part!

I will be giving away the complete set of new images and the sayings that go with them. 10 stamps!

New Thomas Kinkade Stamps

I've been busy. But not stamping, painting ceramic tiles! I have to finish painting all of the tiles for the fireplace and kitchen. They are going to be working on the tile in the house soon so I really needed to finish them last night.

Cornish Heritage Farms has a new release of the beautiful Thomas Kinkade Stamps. I enjoy working with these stamps. They are very detailed and because of that are actually really easy to work with. I love how they stamp in just one color. So stunning. Of course I tend to color them in, but that's just 'cause I love to color and well, get carried away! LOL

Tree Candy

I'm so happy to be able to share one of the many blessings that are in my life right now with you. The new line of rubber stamps that are coming out next week at Cornish_Heritage_Farms.

This year brings a lot of wonderful things in my life. I can't share all of them with you, yet. But let's just say they are going to really be fun!

The house is really coming along. Oh wow! Guess what? All the cabinets are going in. Yes, all the beautiful kitchen, bath and laundry room cabinets. It's soooooooooo exciting!

And all the trim work is almost done.

Everyday finds something new. I'm so excited I can barely sleep at night. We've never lived in a home so wonderful as this and feel more than blessed to be able to be building it.

I haven't written down my resolutions for the new year yet, have you?

I plan to this week. What resolutions are you going to be working on this year? Hope you are able to accomplish each one.

SOTM January

Oh how fun it has been to read each one of your comments. I love finding out where everyone is from and especially how the weather is. It's warmed up here a bit, now bright and sunny. I went by the home site and they are installing the cabinets. Ohhhhhhhh wow....I'm totally excited. Do you know that for me and hubby the kitchen now looks larger with the cabinets in. They told us usually people say the opposite, that the cabinets make the space look smaller. Not to us! It's just beautiful.

I want to share the new stamp of the month (SOTM) with you for January and into February at Cornish Heritage Farms. Yep, it's one of mine!

Green Grass Stamps

Oh look what I got in the mail! These fun stamps can be found at Green_Grass_Stamps

Aren't these the coolest? My boys flipped out over them. Seriously, when you do get fun monster stamps to play with? I love finding stamps that I can use in a variety of ways.

As you can only imagine I've been having fun with them the last couple of days.

I'll be posting the cards I created soon.

Cubanita

Now seriously how could I pass up on this stamp. My heart skipped a beat when I spotted it on line. I have only seen one other stamp with a Cuban theme, and it has a man on it. (Need to find that one again and purchase it.) This one is perfect. Maybe there are other Cuban stamps out there, I'll have to do a better search.

Funny irony of this stamp is you CAN'T really visit Cuba. It's not like you walk into a travel agency and say ,"Yes, I'd love to visit the island over my summer vacation, 2 please."

It's hard to believe that it's been 40 years since my parents left. I know that they never really intended to stay forever. They honestly thought Castro would fall, and they could return home. Wow, he's been in power for sooooooooo long it's hard for people to imagine what Cuba was like before.
