On SCS the Ways to Use it Challenge was Inchies. (WT166 - Inchies ) I've read about inchies on several blogs. I love creating ATC, which seem a wonderful size for inspiration, but an inch? OH MY!
I'm going to let you follow along as I colored in the images for the card I created. It's actually very easy.
I stamped SU! Seasonal birds (a beautiful set, that has long since been retired) and Rubber Stampede's Cherry Blossom using Archival Black ink. Seriously, don't you think the same artist
drew these stamps? Wow, they almost match!
I colored in the blossoms and highlighted the birds using a white Prismacolor pencil.
I then added more color using Pumpkin Orange.
Now onto the branches. Color in using Dark Green for both the bird images and the tree limb.
Add Limepeel for the highlights on the branches. I used greens instead of browns to better coordinate with the
green of the paper.
A touch of Warm Grey over areas to deepen them and you are finished.
Final touch is to sponge SU! Creamy Caramel ink along all of the edges, including the dark green.
After I glued everything in place I added Marcella's Dome Sticker Squares (Clear) over top of the inchies on the card.
I love how this made them look. I was going to emboss them but then thought I'd take a look and see if I had anything else I could you. And wouldn't you know it the stickers were exactly 1"!
I'm pretty excited about being able to stamp again. Although I would really love to have a true art room, I realize that I'll just have to be patient for now.
However, I'm enjoying getting to know all of my stamps and supplies again. And being able to watch the TV and stamp at the same time is pretty darn good. (Having the Frig near by ain't a bad thing either....LOL)

WOW! I am so glad you are back!!! There couldn't be more to say about this card that it is a "work of art!" Just down right beautiful!!

Oh, so pretty! I haven't jumped on the "inchie" bandwagon as yet, bit you have presented them so beautifully. I also need to remember the color pencil on colored paper. That is just so stunning! I'm glad you're able to stamp, too! You are such an excellent teacher.!

Hi! I just bought this stamp set at (of all places) a Trash and Treasure market - in Australia! We have Stampin' Up, but this set dates from before they started up here, so I can tell these stamps have been on a long journey to get to my place. Naturally I looked up Google Images to see what other people had done with them, and I found this. JUST FABULOUS! Just the sort of thing I would aspire to myself. I even have the same pencils - so what a great starting point.
I've seen a ton of interesting things on your blog, so I'm going to have a read!
See ya
