I just mailed this card to a fellow blogger Joan. Joan purchased my Prickly_Pear_Cactus by Cornish Heritage Farms and wanted some advice on how to watercolor it in. Well, sometimes the actual image is worth more than a picture.
I took step to step pictures of my watercoloring it. I'll share it with you soon.
One of the things that I often do when I watercolor are add layers of different colors on top of each other. For instance, I introduced the same yellow that I used in the flower to the green of the cactus. This can be tricky for some. You can end up with a very muddy look. (Especially if you start to introduce to many colors.) What's the secret to not getting mud? Light layers of color and lots of practice! Just like we always tell our kids, "Practice and it will get easier and easier." That's the secret. Time.
